What is indoor disc golf?
Indoor disc golf means playing in a simulator instead of on a physical course outdoors. You throw a real disc at a large-format screen, and a camera-based launch monitor reads the throw and calculates exactly how the disc would have flown on a real course. On screen you see the throw continue through a virtual course – with distance, curve and landing.
The result is a playing experience close to the outdoor game – with one big difference: it's always available. You decide when it's time to throw, whatever the time of day or season.
How a disc golf simulator works
The heart of a disc golf simulator is a launch monitor. HYZR One, which we resell in Sweden, uses high-speed cameras and small reflective markers to read the entire throw – with no sensors built into the disc. That means you can throw with any disc you like.
Nine values are measured per throw: speed, spin, hyzer, nose, launch angle, wobble, horizontal launch angle (HLA), release position and distance. The software uses the data to simulate the throw on famous championship courses, and a motion analysis shows a slow-motion video of the throw so the player sees not just the numbers, but why they turned out that way.
What does the space need?
